Unfortunately, Pig, R. and Paula had to make a trip back to Iowa for a funeral mid-January. However, Pig had his first opportunity to check out snow!
While we were wandering around the rest area, we found a snow man:

All was well and good until the snowball tourney. Pig lost
.

R stepped in to save the day:
Trying to get Pig E Bank to swing adequately is a bit of a challenge. He falls out.
Paula’s niece sent a flat version of herself for Paula to take around Houston. Pig did his part and when they went over to Mrs. B’s, he took Flat Claire around and showed her around the garden.
Here Flat Claire and Pig are checking out the romaine lettuce.

Flat Claire, Pig and Paula get their pictures taken with the trellis of the Kentucky Wonder Pole Beans.

R. helps corral Flat Claire, Durl (the big dog), Pig, and Arty (the little dog) for a picture.

The only ones paying attention are R., Pig, and Flat Claire. Arty and Durl have their attention directed elswhere

One of the many activities that have occurred during the visit of Pig’s Family is the playing of board games. The most often played game is Parker Brother’s Scrabble.
Simba looks on as everyone gets ready to play.

Simba carefully decides whether or not one of the pigs would make a good source of protein. However, as he has discovered before, plastic isn’t a good food source.

Everyone has their tiles and the game is about to commence.

The brothers confer on the next word on the board

And this team scores big with “wallows” and “this”. Lots of two letter words are made.
